In April 2001, a $20 million+ construction materials company received only four sales in two years from its web site design and online marketing strategies.

The company's initial web site design was not formatted for search engine visibility and ease-of-use for their site visitors, which include original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and construction firms. In conjunction with an industrial marketing company that specializes in manufacturing firms, Grantastic Designs was hired to design a more user-friendly web site, to update the site content for accuracy and higher conversion rates, and to increase qualified traffic.

Solutions

  • Created search-engine friendly web site design templates for the new site so that the search engines could easily access all of the content on the pages. Increasing the "natural" search engine visibility of the site.

  • Participated in pay-per-click advertising campaigns to supplement "natural" search engine optimization campaign.

  • Converted all relevant print materials into a format more suited to web viewing. Graphic images were formatted for the web, and text was rewritten for better search engine visibility and sales conversions.

Results

The construction materials web site redesign and online marketing strategies resulted in:

  • Average of 20 new online customers a month, whose orders have ranged from $500 to $3.5 million.

  • Over 100% increase in traffic within 3 months of launching the new site design.

  • Greater than $5 million in increased sales within first year, all attributable to the web site.

  • Consistent search engine optimization traffic since 2000: 30% to 40% from search engine optimization, and 10% to 12% from search engine advertising.

  • 35% overall sales increase.
