Along with a professional design and marketing background in both online and offline media, Grant holds years of professional experience in the fields of public relations and publications, including private enterprise, state government projects, and non-profit organizations. Alongside of his professional internet career, Grant has also worked as a talk show radio host for several Hawaii AM and FM radio stations, along with being a professionally syndicated cartoonist. Grant is a member of the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association, the Usability Professionals Organization, and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii, and a featured speaker to academia and national business organizations on search marketing. Meri Albright, Chief AnalystMeri's professional background includes development and consulting in Usability Studies, Search Optimization, and Multimedia Development/Programming. Meri has been developing web sites since 1999, and teaching web design since 2001. Meri has combined her web and teaching experience into designing web enhanced and completely online courses. She has extensive experience with Flash, and uses multimedia as a teaching aid. Meri has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Rockford College, and a Masters of Science in Information Technology from Capella University, with a focus in Systems Analysis and programming. Much of her studies focused on creating and optimizing content for the Internet, with work in Flash development using ActionScript, and Web Usability. At Grantastic Designs, Meri's focus is in Multimedia Development for the web, and Usability/Conversion Analysis. Meri is also available to develop online training modules for your company.
Mike Rende, Director of Information SystemsWhen wearing his programmer's hat, Mike has created solutions for clients with ColdFusion, ASP, JSP, SQL, ActionScript and JavaScript. When a designer is needed, he is proficient with Macromedia Fireworks, Flash, and Freehand; Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator; Corel Painter; Eovia Carrara Studio and many other graphic design and multimedia software programs. Mike attended Northern Illinois University, graduating cum laude with a BFA in Fine Arts. In addition to his education in the arts, Mike has many years of managerial experience which culminated with a role in the pilot rollout of Barnes & Noble's revolutionary in-store book catalog systems.
Nina Vaught, Directory of UsabilityNina Vaught brings over 25 years marketing, communications and consulting experience to Grantastic Designs. Working in both Fortune 500 and small business environments, she played key roles in marketing communications, website usability and user experience. During thirteen years with Hewlett Packard in product marketing and business development for domestic and global services, Nina was a recognized customer experience advocate, and worked with the Hewlett-Packard online Business Store to improve online communications and site usability; and with clients including State Farm, Proctor & Gamble, Glaxo Welcome, Johnson & Johnson and Michelin to optimize delivery of service, customer satisfaction and profitability. Since leaving Hewlett Packard in 2000 she has accomplished extensive usability research and conducts expert web site usability analyses and user-centered website design for a wide variety of industries. Nina holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Communications at Marylhurst University, with an Associates of Arts Degree in Advertising and PR. Professional memberships include Usability Professionals Association, Internet Professional Network, and American Marketing Association.
David Vogel, Director of Networking and SecurityDavid brings over 23 years of professional experience to Grantastic Designs.
With a strong background in computer hardware, software and networking,
he manages our in house network and performs consulting services for our
clients. David spent 14 years with Digital Equipment Corporation in a variety of technical functions. In his last position at Digital, he served as a Regional LAN Support Engineer. He was responsible for providing pre-sales support for sales consultants and technical support for field engineers. David managed and was the technical lead on several regional LAN rollouts and installations.
David Barnes, Photography DirectorDavid Barnes brings over 30 years of award-winning photography experience and accolades to Grantastic Designs. After winning many NPPA, IPPA and AP photo awards, David has worked with the Waukegan News-Sun, an 80,000 circulation daily newspaper covering Lake County, Illinois, and WBBM-TV News/CBS. The Waukegan News-Sun won the Picture Editor of Year from the National Press Photographer's Association while David was on staff. David also was writer and producer for the Two on Two documentary show on WBBM-TV News/CBS, in many cases combining video with stills. In the early 1980s he worked for Time Magazine, out of the Midwest Bureau, and other New York based magazines including People, US and Business Week. David continues to photograph for major magazines as well as our corporate clients.
